Almost all of the regions that indigenous peoples inhabit are among the most remote areas with an overwhelming majority of people living below the poverty line. It is estimated that more than 500,000 indigenous people alone live in the Sylhet Division across four districts with various unique difficulties.
Bangladesh is divided in to seven divisional head quarters, including the Sylhet Division in the northeastern corner. ECDO is the only development organization working for all plain land indigenous communities in the Sylhet Division.
Our project areas are scattered throughout Sylhet Division, but primarily focus on areas that have a dense indigenous population, including Jaintapur, Goainghat and Sylhet Sadar.
